A message from the Day Care Manager
I am so fortunate to be pursuing my vocation in this wonderful setting, with superb, caring staff who share my passion for looking after your children.
Batford Day Care started in response to the needs of parents of Batford Nursery School, who wanted holiday and wraparound care for their children. Over the years, the Day Care provision has evolved so that we now cater for 0-5s and operate 51 weeks of the year (except for Bank Holidays and staff INSET days). Our ambition for the provision we offer has grown with the centre. We aspire to be the day care provider of choice in Harpenden and offer high quality staffing, resources and environment. We are especially lucky to have a large outdoor space with a nursery garden where the children can play and explore.
We understand that you are entrusting us with your most precious treasure and we want you to have confidence that your trust is well placed, so that you can go about your working day without the ‘worry’ of childcare. We are committed to nurturing your children and it is our privilege and joy to help them navigate their way through growth and development milestones.
Each day is an exciting adventure for the children and for us. We are bound by the EYFS framework and the principle that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Naturally, we meet the learning, development and safeguarding standards of the framework. However, the care we offer goes far beyond those areas that can be assessed: our experienced and well qualified staff will forge close and loving bonds with your children and do everything they can to ensure they are happy and feel at home with us. Every day we are in the business of making memories with the children – memories that we will share with you through our daily communications as well as the children’s learning journals.
From the age of three, the children’s care is integrated during the school day with the Batford Nursery School setting and many – although not all – of our children complete their early years education at Batford.
I invite you to explore what we offer through the pages of this website. However, this is only a small window into our world so if you would like to find out more, do get in touch – we start taking registrations from early in pregnancy, so it is never too soon to visit!
I look forward to welcoming you to Batford Day Care.
